A good opportunity to enjoy spicy
food in full – is to
celebrate the International Spicy Food Day which is the 21st
of January. The choice of the date is well thought-out, as it is nice
to warm up yourself in the middle of winter. To make this day
unforgettable you should decide beforehand how to celebrate it. There
are several variants.
Nowadays the number of spicy
food restaurants is really impressive,
so you can just choose the most convenient one and have a nice time
there. Indian
or Chinese,
the delicious spicy food and exquisite decor of
the restaurant will give you much pleasure.
Another variant is to stay at home and to prepare a magnificent spicy
dinner. You can consult a cookbook for spicy food recipes,
ideas and
cooking tips
.
As tasty as the cooking is, it isn't enough to celebrate such a
holiday. You also need to create a special atmosphere, and music is
the best helper. What to listen to at the Spicy food day? It doesn't
really matter what music you will choose, but
it has to be spicy, like “Spice
girls” or “Red Hot
Chilli Peppers”. You can also see some spicy
film as
“Wasabi” with Jean Reno or
“Some like it hot”
with Merilyn Monroe.
If you want to enjoy the Spicy food day with friends, you can give a
spicy food party or even a spicy food masquerade. Its preparation will
take more time than if you visit a restaurant or celebrate at home,
in the family circle, but it is rather worth doing. The party can
start with the Recipe contest which will display your friends' cooking
abilities and will give the possibility to taste many extraordinary
spicy dishes. Everyone will be able to feel him/herself an
experienced chef creating a new culinary masterpiece. You can also
make a spicy dish in a team by writing various ingredients and
cooking procedures on the pieces of paper, mixing them in a hat and
taking them off one by one. Afterwards the Compliment competition
follows.
Each person has to pay as many compliments as it is possible, comparing
his/her partner with all kinds of spices (for example, “Your
hair
is so fragrant as dried mint”, “Your eyes are so
fiery as
Habanero”, “Your dress is so exquisite as
saffron” or even
“Your mood is so unpredictable as the effect of garlic).
Having
praised each other, everybody becomes relaxed enough to dance
something spicy like salsa (the
name of both a hot
sauce and a Cuban dance). If all preceding is not hot enough for you
and your friends – take part in a fire show, but be careful,
don't burn up the house! The most serious ones can give a short
report like“The meaning of spicy food in my life”
or “Spicy
food as a driving power of the greatest geographical
discoveries”
(see Spicy food
origins). More zesty food, zesty beverages and zesty
jokes (if necessary). Anyway you can invent everything you like, the
main thing is to stock up enough dairy and dry bread to put out the
fire in the mouth. Happy Spicy food day!
